About Teach17
Teach17 is a website for teachers who want practical ideas that actually survive contact with a real classroom.
Every article is built around a simple format: 17 ways to improve a part of teaching. That might be 17 ways to manage a difficult class, 17 ways to reduce workload, 17 ways to support struggling readers, 17 ways to use technology sensibly, or 17 ways to feel fresh in the classroom again.
The number is deliberately simple. Seventeen ideas are enough to give depth, variety and choice, but not so many that the advice becomes overwhelming. You do not have to use every idea. The aim is to find one or two that help tomorrow.
Teach17 is written from the perspective of real secondary school teaching. It is not about perfect lessons, glossy displays or unrealistic advice. It is about the everyday reality of school life: tired pupils, busy corridors, marking, behaviour, exams, meetings, last-period lessons, forgotten pens, difficult classes, workload, confidence and the small professional habits that make teaching better.
